Gregory Hargis
Co-Founder & CEO

Gregory Hargis founded Callie Solutions in effort to find creative solutions to better serve our community. Gregory has worked in the multi-media space for over ten years ranging from graphic designer, video editor, animator, producer, photographer, web and app developer. His experience in the multi-media space has created a unique perspective on the way consumers interact and relate to products they use everyday. Gregory has taken this perspective to heart when creating Callie, designing it specifically for each and every user that will touch it. Gregory’s experience as a video producer, freelancer, entrepreneur and cancer survivor have given him a unique skill set and perspective to lead the Callie Solutions team.

John Kominetz
Co-Founder & Chief Software Engineering Officer

John Kominetz is responsible for building out the behind-the-scenes software that orchestrates the Callie experience across patients, nurses, and hospital administrators. John has delivered systems to help organizations get things done in the financial, pharmaceutical, regulatory, and technology industries for over twenty-five years. His passion for good process assures Callie will improve the collaborative aspects of patient/nurse interaction to deliver better outcomes more efficiently, and it will assure Callie’s team of software engineers delivers top quality products to customers.

Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer

Don Mattes is responsible for the Callie product architecture and development.  Don has over 30 years of experience in leading the design, development and delivery of software systems, primarily in the pharmaceutical industry, ranging from instrument automation to large distributed information management systems, including the integration of systems across multiple vendor products. Don's desire to deliver value to the business rather than “just a system” has driven his focus to include the integration of the system with the supported business processes and to look at the complete product as a solution to a business problem or need, ensuring value add for the customer.  Don’s experience in various business disciplines, demonstrated leadership skills, and desire to deliver a solution that exceeds customer expectations will help ensure that products delivered by Callie Solutions will be technically robust and meet business needs.

Callie® Solutions, LLC is a technology company developing high quality, creative communication solutions for the healthcare industry.

In 2012 the Founder & CEO, Gregory Hargis, was diagnosed with Leukemia. During his many visits to the hospital for treatment, Gregory was disheartened with one consistent reality - the way patients and nurses communicated simply didn't work. The means available to support patient and caregiver communication were outdated and unable to support key elements for safe patient care. Hospitals throughout the United States are still using a “call-light” system that has largely been unchanged since its creation decades ago.  Such systems only allow a patient to call for help once with no specific information to help care staff make informed decisions to manage a response, and if there is not a timely response it leaves the patient no recourse for additional communication.

As a person professionally trained in areas of communication and a practicing digital strategist, Gregory found himself devising a better way to streamline and improve patient and caregiver communication making it simpler, more efficient and safer. The revolutionary result is the Callie® Communication System - a product that elevates patient/staff communication to a new level making it simple, specific, and instant. The Callie Communication System is the first product in development for Callie Solutions.

Callie® Communication System

The Callie Communication System, based on current smart phone and  tablet technology,  is designed to help patients and hospital staff communicate more effectively and efficiently. Callie was designed by a patient – with patients in mind while taking into consideration the needs of nurses, supervisors, and hospital management. While providing flexibility and portability to the patient, Callie offers hospital staff new and better tools to do their job effectively. It offers multiple ways for patients and staff to interact, providing simple one-touch messaging and allowing for video chat, two-way audio chat, and text messaging. The result is a better experience and better patient care.

Callie makes communication simple for all patients - children, teens, adults and the elderly. The children’s version is created with animated characters who not only help them communicate but create a fun experience that takes their minds off the reality of a hospital stay. Callie is also simple enough to use for older patients with no experience using mobile devices and every patient in between.

Callie provides the nursing and hospital staff with with a number of communication and task management tools never before available in the hospital setting. Nurses will be using smart phones, which creates unlimited potential for additional useful tools. Callie will also support  smart-watches which will allow nurses hands-free, quick and simple communication. The magic of Callie really lies behind the scenes on server. Here patient calls and messages are smartly organized, prioritized, escalated and delegated to the specific staff member responsible for each task. Hospitals are able to customize their system for their needs and protocols. This allows for greater efficiency and productivity among the staff.
